Process Engineer Chemicals
Responsibilities:
Typical responsibilities of a process engineer include:
- Developing capital projects from technology selection to basic design packages
- Acting as guardian of the safe design of our installations
- Providing start-up assistance as required
- Proactively working on best practices, engineering guidelines and internal procedures, and maintaining internal and external networks to be informed of new developments in the field
- Providing other services, including leading process improvement studies, performance optimization, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits and safety studies.
- Coaching less experienced staff
Requirements:
- Substantial experience in petrochemical and/or refining technology, process design (and the necessary tools); past exposure to an operational environment is an asset
- Hands-on experience in relevant process technologies – like Base Chemicals, PolyEthylene, Ethylene Glycol, Higher Olefins and Detergents, Styrene Monomer, Propylene Oxide, Polyols or Utilities (water treatment, steam and power generation, effluent treatment) – is an advantage
- A track record of delivering results on schedule
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. You are expected to possess a proven ability to lead and work in multidisciplinary teams and be able to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of initiative and independence
- Your judgment of process safety issues is first class
- An academic background in chemical engineering
- You are fluent in English

- Providing advice to the operational units on process technology issues
- Challenging and guiding change in the installations
- Acting as guardian of the safe design and operation of our installations
- Provide input into technology selection to basic design packages
- Providing other services, including leading process improvement studies, performance optimization, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits and safety studies.
